Well, as I write this it is St Patrick's Day- and thanks to many Rotary fundraisers held in March I have a load of accessories to acknowledge the day and wore a number of them to work. Wasn't a great deal of people at work as Thursday is a big working from home day, and I am not likely to be taken to a pub this evening, so I don't think my efforts have been overly well appreciated.

Hey ho, I have googled St Paddy's/Irish sayings and while I quite like "May your home always be to small to hold all of your friends" I found this:
May you always have walls for the winds
A roof for the rain, tea beside the fire
Laughter to cheer you, those you love near you
And all your heart might desire.

The current predicament of the Ukranian people it is a timely reminder that this is all that we really require to be content, and they have had some if not all of these elements ripped away.

Notice it is what your "heart" desires not your head or purse just for clarity!

The District 9675 (Sydney to Illawarra) Global Grant that we were asked to sign off on has been approved:

"Congratulations! Your global grant application for funding to expand availability of specialist pediatric and preventive services beyond Eastern Sydney to engage and design similar services in conjunction with the Aboriginal communities in Western Sydney to reduce morbidity rates for mothers and children under age 5 in the Mt Druitt and Blacktown communities, submitted by the Rotary Club of Sydney Cove and the Rotary Club of Manukau City Sunrise, has been approved by The Rotary Foundation. The award is in the amount of US$ 57,726.00. The generous gift of the Leslie Fernandes Directed Gift for Maternal and Child Health is providing $34,656 of the total amount."

It was very exciting to see the process in action, and I am sure it will make a significant difference in the community it is to be applied to in Western Sydney.

Don't be afraid to dream big if there is a project that you think could be suitable for applying for a Global Grant - there are plenty of people and resources that might be able to help us make it work.

Zooming next Tuesday with something a bit different - all about cheese! Have a good weekend.
